Linux Audio Conference 2006
I will do a performance and a talk during the Linux Audio Conference 2006 at ZKM, Karlsruhe, again. Hope to see you there.
Both happen on:
Saturday 29 April 2006
A lesser known feature of Miller Puckette s popular audio and media development framework Pure Data is the possibility to create user defined graph-ical data structures. Although the data structures are included in Pd for several years, only recently a sigificant number of users discovered and used this feature. This paper will give an introduction to the possibilities of Pd s data structures for composers and musicians and present several example applications.
- Paper
- A video of the talk is available as well now.
These are the acts that are going to play at the cozy Linux Sound Night. I tried to collect some links to their homepages, as the ZKM page is a bit silent about it. Many of the acts provide downloadable music on their sites, and listening through it the evening again promises to be a very interesting and unusual event with music ranging from the progressive rock (sorry, guys) sounds of YUE to the far out cappela queer activism by JP Mercury, which I'm especially curious about to hear live. Give it a download, if you cannot make it.
Update: Unfortunately JP Mercury himself now cannot come to the concert, which is a real pity...
Update 2: There is a lot of Linux Sound Night media (video and audio recordings) available for download now as well.
- YUE
- Frank Rübler
- JackLab (Michael Bohle, Sören Heidrich, Wilken Bösch)
- JP Mercury - cancelled. :(
- Daniel James
- Frank Barknecht <= that's me.
