GOP done right

Getting graph on parent patches to display correctly is a bit difficult to do on Pd (at least up to now, which is 0.38). Here's a step by step introduction on how to get beautiful results:

Fix % filenames

I am one of those guys using "wget" to download things. Wget has this nasty habit of replacing special chars in files according to the URL escaping mechanisms. My favourite mp3-player Alsaplayer has or had a bug, where it didn't want to play files named with "%"s in it. As mp3-netlabels also have the nasty habit, to use special characters like "[thn001] some file.mp3" I end up with lots of files like: "%5Bthn001%5D%20some%20file.mp3" on my disk. Ugly, huh? It is.

The Koeln Concert

Okay, now finally a premiere performance in my home base town Cologne. Will happen soon, you probably already missed it. Bad luck. Maybe later I will post pictures here if someone was kind enough to send them to me. Here's the pure data:

RRADical Pd

RRADical Pd is a project to create a collection of Pd patches, that make Pd easier and faster to use for people who are more comfortable with commercial software like Reason(tm) or Reaktor(tm). RRAD as an acronym stands for "Reusable and Rapid Audio Development" or "Reusable and Rapid Application Development", if it includes non-audio patches, with Pd. In the design of this system, a way to save state flexibly in Pd (persistence) had to be developed. For communication among each other the RRADical patches integrate the Open Sound Control protocol.

pd~convention graz

Your's truly will attend the pd~convention in Graz starting at 27 Sep 2004. There will be three events under my (more or less) direct control. The talk on RRADical will happen on thursday at 09:30-10:30, which I think is quite early. Especially because I will perform the night before together with Tom Schouten in a concert at the Thienfeld and will probably be very tired.
