I'm speechless: Cologne-based musician and composer Gregor Schwellenbach did the fourth and final Advent mixtape for Kompakt.fm, and he has one of my tracks in his selection: "Beauty" was released originally as part of the first Noise of Cologne sampler.
In the gorgeous and wild KOMPAKT.FM Advent Drop by Gregor Schwellenbach "Beauty" is one of 31 tracks, an "extraordinary concoction that draws from backgrounds as diverse as classical music, avantgardist textures, electro-acoustic tape splicing and urban clubbing" according to the liner notes. It's even wilder: Karlheinz Stockhausen sits next to Sonic Youth featuring Klaus Nomi written in Mike Ink by the Aphex Twin. In less capable hands this could have become a strenuous and tiring experience, but the opposite is true: Gregor composed a touching and uplifting mix with even a good dose of humour, at least in my ears.
I am so very, very proud to be included.
